We have grown, we would like to welcome Caroline, Clive and Penhold to our Coalition. Our Communities are working together on Family Violence and Bullying Initiatives. Please check back soon to see the location of each communities location of their 'Centre for Positive Relationships'.
'Centres for Positive Relationships'
The goals of the 'Centres for Positive Relationships' are to:
Create a common language, consistent information, continuity of resources, referral supports, shared Coalition Resource Bank, awareness promotion, and to alleviate the stigma associated with family violence and bullying
Provide long-term, preventative and sustainable supports by becoming part of the fabric of each community

The Sylvan Lake Vision for Non-Violence Sylvan Lake Society is working on family violence and bullying prevention initiatives in our community. The strengthening Positive Assets and Resiliency in Communities (SPARC) committee work on building positive relationships with youth and the community through the use of the 40 Developmental Assets Framework. Building Bridges inter-generational initiatives connect older adults and youth together on activities such as: “Walk The Talk” and “Pink Shirt Day”. The Elder Abuse Coordinated Community Response works on solutions to prevent elder abuse. This is supported through a provincial Ministry of Seniors and Housing grant. Sylvan Lake's Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new 'Centre for Positive Relationships' was held on September 7, 2017.
